Use of IP address

Every computer and device connected to the Internet is assigned an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses are typically assigned in country-based blocks and can often be used to identify the country, state, and city from which a computer is connecting to the Internet. Because IP addresses need to be used by websites for the Internet to function, WOTA websites have access to your IP addresses.

Data Integrity & Security

WOTA applies commercially reasonable and industry-standard technical, administrative, and organizational security measures to protect the integrity of the data we collect and to guard against unauthorized or unlawful access to, use of, or accidental destruction of such data.

Particularly, when you enter sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) as part of our Service, we encrypt the transmission of that information using industry-standard encryption.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Please note that we require a minimum amount of data to maintain a membership account, and requests to terminate data may result in termination of membership services.

Risks Inherent in Sharing Information

Although we take reasonable steps to maintain the security of our systems and the information associated with your account, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you share your Content, and we are not responsible for third-party circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures on the Service.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers have a “do not track” feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. We currently do not respond to “do not track” signals.

Links to Other Websites

The Service contains links to other websites not operated by WOTA. We are not responsible for the practices employed by such websites nor the information or content contained therein. Please remember that when you use a link to go from the Service to another website, this Privacy Policy is no longer in effect and your activities on that third party website are subject to such third party website’s own rules and policies. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave the Service and to read the privacy policies of those websites.
